Noah grunted as he pushed himself off the couch. Of course at his size, it wasn’t just a matter of standing up, it was a process. It had been a long time since he had been able to simply lean forward a little and stand. For one thing, his massive belly made it impossible for him to bend very far at the waist. And of course he was naturally pinned down by his sheer weight. That meant Noah had to rely a lot on pushing himself with his arms, which presented its own problems. His arms had a whole lot more flab than muscle, so he couldn’t push with very much force. It didn’t help that his arms didn’t have a very good range
For Noah and Jordan, going to Joker’s after work actually meant going to O’Reilly’s for burgers and drinks and then moving on to Joker’s for a few more drinks. As Noah finished off the O’Reilly burger, the biggest one on the menu, he glanced longingly at Jordan’s fries.
“Come on,” Jordan said, pushing his plate toward Noah, “you know I’m not going to finish these.” Noah eagerly grabbed a handful from his friend’s plate. “What amazes me is that you can finish them after an O’Reilly burger,” Jordan continued. “You’re a bottomless pit.”
